On Saturday December 9, 2023, the weather was unseasonably wonderful. I took the opportunity to do some flying with my new Autel Evo 2 6K Pro, first doing some mapping runs. After a few errands, I worked on my front yard garden railroad project.

As the name says, the Washington, Oakland and Chestnut Holiday Railroad is a small loop in my equally small front yard. A G scale setup has been a dream for many years. I’ve gathered the track and trains used and been working on it for the past few weeks. While working on it, I got a text from my good friend and coworker Eden Harvest, who said he thought there was going to be a special sunset. He knows it’s what I like to capture with the drone. At first, it was meh. But after a few minutes it started to change into an orange glow in the western sky. And while waiting for that, I got some drone video of the layout.
Got most of the track power issues resolved, have to get the locomotive running smoother. Parts due Wednesday. Stay tuned.
